Due to the fact that we've had problems in the past with unknown scumbags hacking away at our Wiki, we've instituted a policy of limiting access to our Wiki by operating in what is known as a "web of trust." Similar to the concept of Key Signing, generally what this means is that we'd like to have some type of personal or electronic interaction with you by:
- Having you show up at a meeting at least a time or two and talk with our members.
- Having you join and participate on the mailing list in a constructive and positive manner for a little while.
If you've done that, then all you need to do is to contact one of the persons listed on our Contact List along with a thought of what you would like your UserID to be, and one of them will set you up with your account. It's that simple.
Once you've been set up with an account, we would really appreciate that you'd take the time to set up your own personal page so that others who normally wouldn't read your posts or meet you in person can get to know you a little better. Take a look at our users pages to get some idea's about what you can do.
If you have questions or need additional information, again, refer to our Contact List.
Thanks for your interest in Taclug! We hope to see more of you and your participation.
Future Plans It is hoped that sometime early in 2009 we can get one of the System Administrators to upgrade MediaWiki and we can then install some plug-in's that will allow us to streamline this procedure.
