Basic electronics

From Taclug

If anyone is interested in basic electronics, I (Kurt Forsberg) am willing to give a presentation/hands on session on the topic. I'm no engineer, but I have been in the field of electronics for nearly ten years, so I think I am competent to handle at least the basics. I'm having a difficult time coming up with ideas though. I could spend a half hour explaining Ohm's law (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohm%27s_law), but that's very dry and might put everyone to sleep. There's a lot of basic stuff that might take up a lot of time, but isn't all that fun.

So I've created this page to take suggestions. What electronics topics are you curious about? How semiconductors work? The wonderful world of transistors? I'll start it off....

  • An overview of different components and what they do
  • Ohm's Law
  • How semiconductors work
  • Transistors! What would we do without them? You're staring at billions of them right now!
