- Adjournment
As you can see, Jeff Maxwell was nominated for both President and Board. He has
indicated that he will withdraw from the Board election if he is elected
President. Francois chose not to simultaneously run for a Board position.
Before balloting, each candidate will be given an opportunity to address the
members. Members will also have a chance to discuss the candidates. Speeches
may be in support of or in opposition to the candidates; however, proper decorum
must be observed and no personal attacks or insults will be permitted.
The election will proceed as follows: On the first ballot, you will vote for
the offices of President and Secretary. For President, vote for one of the two
candidates. For Secretary, vote for or against the candidate. On the second
ballot the eight Board candidates will be listed; you may vote for six or fewer
of the candidates.
The six Board seats being elected have staggered terms. Two terms last until
10/2007, two last until 10/2006, and two last until 10/2005. The two candidates
receiving the most votes will be elected to the longest terms, the next two will
be elected to the 10/2006 terms, the two after that will be elected to the short
terms, and the two candidates receiving the fewest votes will not be elected.
In the event of a tie that affects which candidate will be elected to which
term, the candidates will be given a chance to amicably sort it out themselves;
if this fails, a runoff election will be held to determine who will serve the
longer term. In the event of a tie that affects which candidates will be
elected and not elected, a runoff election will be held.
Questions about or discussion of the agenda for this meeting should be directed
to the Taclug-business mailing list.
