Agenda: Note: The Taclug meeting and the Taclug tech-sessions are in the same location this month. Look for the only large red brick office building in the area of I-5 and the Port of Tacoma exit. When you are at the site, just follow the signs to the David Evans & Associates Suite on the 3rd floor. Also, the Taclug website (www.taclug.org) has a map. Just click on the "clicking here" link. Wow, aren't we original! ;) AGENDA 12:30 High Noon, Coffee is on! 1:00 - 1:45 Introductions 1:45 - 2:45 Q & A Session 2:45 - 3:00 Break 3:00 - 3:45 Linux World Expo Rundown 3:45 - 5:30 Install Fest The Introductions is intended to be more than just a name thing. We conduct introductions just about every Taclug meeting, and us old timers never do it the same each time. Here you can briefly state your background in Linux, list your latest projects and interests, moan about the problem that is filling your lunch pail, and plead for help if desired. Up to 5 minutes time is appropriate, with some interactive batter back and forth as the situation arises. The Q & A will be a moderated discussion. We find that these discussions often divert and twist into interesting new channels that no one could have planned. Here we will have all levels of Linux expertise from beginner, thru intermediate, and to guru level Linux users. We hope to attract new entry level Linux users, or even some individuals that are just interested to find out about Linux. You'll please, come! This is your opportunity to ask any burning questions about Linux. No question will be perceived as too basic. Our experience from past Q & A sessions is all levels of Linux users learn a lot from these discussions, but in different ways. Guru's may enlighten each other with new approaches to solving a problem. To the Linux beginner, this same discussion may trigger one to see the potential of using Linux. The meeting will close, and then we will have a short break. The Boot Fest will follow. We will have four areas available to install Linux onto anybody's computer. Intermediate and above Taclug users will be available to help anyone that wants to install Linux onto their computer. Bring your computers and any Linux distribution you want to install. Or just bring your computers. We will have copies of several leading Linux distributions for your use. And here is an interesting caveat with Linux. THIS IS ALL LEGAL! Hopefully, this will light some mental light bulbs!? Hope to see you at the upcoming August Taclug meeting.
