To get on the server you'll need an IRC client. Epic is a popular command line client. Both
xchat and Mozilla-chat are graphical clients.
Start your client and type:
/SERVER irc.taclug.org
After the connect message type to give youself a name:
/NICK yourhandle
Next join the #linux channel.
/JOIN #linux
You can list users with:
/WHO *
And you can list channels with:
/LIST
When you're done
/QUIT
The purpose of the TACLUG irc server is to encourage free and open
discussions about a variety of Linux and computer-related topics. The
channels are not moderated in any way. In order to keep things clean and fun,
we ask that you abide by some basic rules of conduct:
- Abusive language will not be tolerated. Play fair and use common sense.
- Illegal activities of any kind will not be tolerated.
Any violation of these guidelines may result in your removal from the
server and possibly being banned.
