Karen Pelletreau and Peter Horne (both members of Maria Vernet's phytoplankton
group, Scripps Inst. of Oceanography, La Jolla CA) are setting up 24 hour incubations of their water samples to gain a measure of how productive the phytoplankton are at the different sampling stations, and from different depths in the water column.
